Senior Building Services Engineer
SSO Personnel is recruiting a Senior Building Services Engineer for an established mechanical and building services contractor in Cork.
This role offers the opportunity to take responsibility for engineering delivery across projects, working closely with project managers, site teams, consultants and subcontractors.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the coordination and delivery of mechanical building services installations, including HVAC, heating, ventilation and public health systems.
- Review drawings, specifications and technical submissions, resolving design queries and installation issues.
- Coordinate mechanical services with electrical, structural and architectural requirements.
- Support equipment selection, procurement and subcontractor technical reviews.
- Monitor installation quality and compliance with project specifications, relevant standards and regulations.
- Support commissioning, testing and project handover documentation.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to site teams.
- Attend project meetings and liaise with clients, consultants and suppliers.
Requirements
- A qualification in Building Services Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Typically five or more years’ relevant building services experience.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and their installation.
- Experience coordinating projects from technical review through to commissioning and handover.
- Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit or BIM coordination would be advantageous.
